Northumberland - Ruby L. Latsha 80 formerly of Bird Lane passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at Nottingham Village.

Ruby was born August 28, 1936 in Pillow a daughter of the late Albert and Faye (Bohner) Kieffer.  On April 18, 1953 she married John B. Latsha who preceded her in death on January 9, 1999.

She was a 1953 graduate of Mahoney Joint High School.  She was employed as an inventory specialist for Merck & Co. until her retirement in 1999.

Mrs. Latsha was an active member of St. Elias Reformed Church, Sunbury where she helped to prepare the church newsletter, shoeboxes and served in the adult Sunday School Classes.

Ruby was a talented seamstress, an avid reader.  She enjoyed hunting with her family and played on local bowling leagues.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Pam Latsha of Sunbury, Scott and Diane Latsha of Watsontown, John A. and Roni Latsha of Northumberland, four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Robert Bolton of Selinsgrove, Sherry and Patrick Morgan of Northumberland Pamela and Perry Eyster of Selinsgrove, Lisa and Jeff Miller of Northumberland, 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one brother Raymond Kieffer of Northumberland.

In addition to her husband of 45 years and her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene Schmeltz.

Friends and family may call from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Tuesday at St. Elias Reformed Church, 2016 Church Road, Sunbury where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm with Rev. Clair F. Shaffer, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

Contributions in Ruby’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland.
