John "Bunny" DiBonaventura, of Northumberland, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. He was 91 years old.
John was born at home in Northumberland to Pietro and Filomena DiBonaventura on Sept. 14, 1925, where he grew up.

A veteran of World War II, John left Northumberland High School to join the Navy, where he proudly served his country.
Upon his return, John met Helen Black and were married on Nov. 29, 1952. They moved to Point Township where they built their home and raised their family.
John was a dedicated employee of Westinghouse, Barret, and Celotex Corporation, from where he retired as maintenance supervisor. He worked double shifts when called upon to do so, without a thought of being fatigued, and no one can remember him ever taking a sick day.
John was happiest knowing he was providing for his family. He took great pride in keeping their home well maintained and in order. Although untrained, John had a natural talent for planning, building and all things mechanical. He could fix just about anything, and over the course of his life, he did.
John made sure his loved ones had everything they needed and in most cases wanted. He was a quiet, generous man who never refused any request from family, friends or strangers for help.

John was a loving husband to his wife Helen who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by brothers, David and Gene, and a sister, Susan.
John was the devoted father and father-in-law to his children, son, Peter B. DiBonaventura and wife Barbara, of Warren, N.J.; and daughter, Seby Barnes, of Northumberland; and devoted grandfather of three and great-grandfather of six; and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed.
May he Rest in Peace.
