Anna Grace Packer, 93, of Elliott Drive, Northumberland, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Anna Grace was born July 20, 1930, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Broderick) Lewis. She is survived by her husband, John W. “Woody” Packer Sr. They married Oct. 24, 1955.

She was a 1948 graduate of Sunbury High School and a 1951 graduate of Geisinger Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing experience included hospital nursing, school nursing, and public health nursing in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Prior to retiring, she worked as a nutritionist with the WIC Program in Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties.

Anna Grace was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Sunbury.

In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is survived by six children, John W. Packer Jr. (Ronnie), Todd Packer (Cyndy), Dean Packer (Joe), Thomas Packer (Sheila), Julie Apple (Kevin), Jennifer Kerwin (Chris); 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her brother-in-law, Fred Packer.

The last survivor of 12 siblings, she was preceded in death by brothers, George, Harry, Thomas, Samuel, John, Charles, Trevor, and James Lewis; and sisters, Evelyn Bright, Margaret Marschang, and Agnes Lewis.

A viewing will be held Friday, May 10 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at St. Monica Catholic Church, 109 Market St., Sunbury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon with Father Fred Wangwe A.J. as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
