William C. Rudy

William C. "Bill" Rudy Jr., 70, of Elliott Drive, Northumberland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Geisinger Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Danville.

Bill was born April 26, 1953, in Lewisburg, a son of the late William C. Rudy Sr. and Doris M. Beck. On March 24, 1973, he married Savilla M. Young who survives.

He was a 1971 graduate of Shikellamy High School.

Bill was supervisor for Wilhold in Sunbury for 35 years prior to their closing.

He was a lifetime member of the Norry Hookies.

Bill enjoyed genealogy and tracing the family tree, visiting Gettysburg and attending their Civil War reenactments. He loved Penn State athletics, especially football, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

In addition to his wife of 50 years he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Charity Rudy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Laura and Jim Williams, and Cindy Moser and fiance’ Phil Ingerick; grandchildren, Brandon, Josh and Kayla Rudy, Ryan and Julia Williams, Natalie Brosius and fiance’ Matt Deitrich, Abbey, Alexa and Brooke Moser, Hunter and Emma Ingerick; one great-grandchild, Taylin Rudy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Patti Rudy, Steve and Carol Rudy, Dave and Karen Rudy, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Papalia; and mother-in-law, Bobbie Kerstetter (July 30, 2023).

Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Hummel officiating.

Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
