- Vivian L. Long, 91, of Emmanuel Home, Northumberland, where she’s been a resident for the past two years, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Vivian was born July 25, 1932 in Trevorton a daughter of the late George and Jennie (Neidig) Swartz. On November 15, 1952, she married Kermit J. Long, who preceded her in death December 12, 2021.
She was a 1950 graduate of Trevorton High School and was affiliated with the Emmanuel E.C. Church in Trevorton and attended church at Emmanuel Home.
Vivian was a homemaker and did a great job caring for her family. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by two sons Douglas Long and his wife Deb of Newton, N.C., Kevin Long and fiance' Melissa of Kreamer, two daughters Vicki Miller and her husband Donald of Sunbury and Wendy Jones of Trevorton, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dolores Cooper and her husband Jack, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 69 years, Kermit, she was preceded in death by four older sisters and one infant brother.
Friends and family may visit Friday, from 10:00-11:00am at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland where the funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Pastors Ryan Martin and Nathan Black officiating.
Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
