Thelma Marie Reader, 97, of Freeburg, passed away June 9, 2026, at
Heather Court Nottingham Village. She was born in Rockefeller Township
on September 9, 1928 to the late Isaac and Viola Tressler. She
graduated from Middleburg Joint High School in 1946. She worked for
Westing House and several sewing factories. Thelma married Floyd D.
Reader in September 1955. They lived and raised their family on their
farm near Freeburg. Thelma loved spending time with her family and
friends and enjoyed farming, gardening, and crocheting.

Thelma is survived by her son, Donald of Freeburg; a grandson, Colby
Gehers of Middleburg; sisters; Margaret Krouse, and Sarah Taylor and
many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband,
parents, a daughter, Karen Gehers, two daughters a birth, Linda Marie
and Debra Ann; sister, Viola Weaver and brothers, Gilbert, Albert, and
George.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM
at Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St. Sunbury PA 17801 where the family
will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of
service. Burial will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park.
