Sonja Savidge Obituary

Northumberland – Sonja I. Savidge, 79, of Queen Street, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Maria Hall, Danville where she had been a resident.
Sonja was born May 28, 1940 on the Isle of Que a daughter of the late Grant Long and Louella (Hendricks) Long Smith and stepfather Miles Smith.  September of 1960, she married John W. Savidge who preceded her in death December 6, 1978.
She was a 1958 graduate of Northumberland High School.  She was employed by Wilson Manufacturing in Sunbury and then Chef Boyardee in Milton and worked part time at Kmart in Shamokin Dam.   Following retirement she continued to work part time at Kmart.
Sonja was a member of the River of Life Church in Sunbury.
She enjoyed shopping, reading, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Sonja is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Bill and Sharon Savidge of Northumberland, two daughters and sons-in-law Crystal and Brian Wolfe of Sunbury and Michele and Ed Cope of Northumberland, grandchildren Chastin and Chad Bohner, John and Heather Savidge, Sarah and husband Joe Conquest, Josh Floyd and fiancé Caty Moyer and Malachi Floyd, six great-grandchildren, three brothers Duke, Bill and John four sisters Judy, Linda, Dolly and Maria. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Chelsey and five siblings.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, February 13 from 10:00am – 11:00am at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
