Selinsgrove - Shirley Louise (Peters) Reed, 86 of County Line Road passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born August 1, 1938 in Swengel a daughter of the late Charles W. and Ruth E. (Hassinger) Peters.  On May 27, 1977 she married Thomas R. Reed who preceded her in death on January 11, 2025.

Shirley was a Sunbury Owl and was a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School.

Early on she was employed by Halls Motor Freight Co., Sunbury. After her marriage to Tom she served as business manager for his company, Tri-County Water Treatment, until her retirement.

She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland where she served on various committees and projects.

She was a member of AARP, a past cub scout leader for her sons, was a member of the Mary Deer Rockefeller Auxiliary. She gratly enjoyed playing in her card club withher treasured friends for over 50 yeras.

Shirley is survived by; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Michele Johnson, her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, she was preceded in death by; her son, Chris A. Johnson, granddaughter, Jennifer E. Johnson, sister, Catherine A. Derr and brothers, Harold e., Charles A., Archie M. and Marlin E. Peters.

A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at the convenience of her family.

Shirley was an avid animal lover, the family request that contributions in her memory be made to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury, PA 17801.
