Sarah J. Phillips, 86, of Sunbury, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Sarah was born April 23, 1939, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Clarence and Leary (Eby) Lenker. On March 5, 1960, she married Ronald Phillips Sr., who preceded her in death on August 29, 2018.
She worked for Penn DOT until she retired.
Sarah was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church in Sunbury.
She enjoyed puzzles, collecting lighthouses and collecting and showing classic cars.
Sarah is survived by her grandchildren, Elli Kashuba (Marty), Anthony Phillips (Jada), Lindsay Phillips (Anthony), Loran Shaffer; seven great-grandchildren; and her pride and joy, Buttons, her dog.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son Ronald Phillips Jr., daughter Laura Shaffer and grandson Michael Shaffer.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank her caregivers and her close friend Lisa for their kindness, patience and dedication to Sarah.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Lisa Martina for her unwavering compassion and the love she showed over many years of friendship.
Services will be private.
