Sarah Buck Obituary


— SELINSGROVE — Sarah E. Buck, 74, of Oak Drive, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at her home.  

Sarah was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Pine Grove, a daughter of the late Sherman and Mary (Batz) Schultz and was raised in Herndon by her foster parents, Dr. T. Randall and Mildred Moon. On Oct. 7, 1966, she married Bernard J. Buck who survives.

She graduated from Line Mountain High School.  

She had been employed at the shirt factory in Dalmatia.  

She attended St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove.  

Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and greatly enjoyed her dogs. She loved to make Easter candy and homemade bread.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Candy Doone, of Sunbury and companion, Rick Ricardo, also of Sunbury, Holly and Eric Querry, of Sunbury, and Tinsle Betts and partner, Kevin Shilo, of Selinsgrove; one son, Matthew Buck, of Sunbury; five grandchildren, Chantel, Eric Jr., Gregory, Zachary and Roman; two great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Jahleel ; two brothers, Edward Schultz, of Millersburg, and Mark Sherk, of Hummelstown; six sisters, Marie Hummel, of Annville, Margaret Williams, Polly Greenwalt, Barbara Wise, and Mary Zombra, all of Lebanon, and Becky Dalton, of Hershey, foster brothers and sisters, Charles and Jamie Moon, of Elizabethville, Doris Metcalf, of Wisconsin, Diane and Theodore Sawruk, of Bethlem, Sandra and Lyle Schwalm, of Longhorn, and Gloria Gaffney, of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by one son-in-law Brian Doone, two brothers, Robert and Norman Schultz; one sister, Elizabeth in infancy; and foster brother, Thomas Moon.

Friends and family may visit from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 10 with the Father Daniel Powell as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
