Rose Katherine Buch passed away peacefully at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, PA, on October 10, 2023, at the age of 100. Born on November 3, 1922, in Sunbury, PA, she was the daughter of Ralph and Anna Eckman.
On November 14, 1942, Rose married Harold C. Buch in Goldsboro, North Carolina, while he was stationed at Fort Rucker Army Base. She was blessed to spend 58 happy years with Harold until his passing, May 30, 2000.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Frank Reigle; her brother, William Eckman; and her son-in-law Jeffrey Bingaman.
Rose is survived by five children, Harold James “Jim” Buch (Mary) and Barbara Bingaman of Northumberland, William Buch (Diane), Susan Buch, and Michael Buch of Sunbury; her sister and brother-in law Helen and Lawrence Neidig of Northumberland; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Rose was a 1940 graduate of Sunbury High School and member of Lantz’s Church, Sunbury, Shriner’s Church, Selinsgrove and most recently Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove. She enjoyed spending time with her family at holiday gatherings, family picnics and reunions. She also loved travel, having visited nine countries. She had many jobs throughout her life; working as a salesperson for Harrisburg-based Town & Country, Sunbury location; as a photo license operator, Selinsgrove; and as a foster grandparent in Shikellamy School District.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service on November 3, 2023, at Joseph Epler Funeral Home, located at 210 King Street, Northumberland, with visitation at 6:00pm and service at 7:00pm.
