Ronald Underkoffler Obituary


Sunbury - Ronald L. Underkoffler, 77, of Chestnut Street, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 in Geisinger Hospital, Danville.  
Ronald was born February 4, 1944 in Sunbury a son of the late Madeline (Baker) Coleman.  
He attended Shikellamy School and attended the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Sunbury.
Ronald retired from the Sunbury Silk Mill and Paulson Wire and Rope where he worked as a machine operator and laborer.
He enjoyed golfing with friends in his younger years, traveling with friends and family, spending time at the casinos and was an avid lottery player.
Ronald was a life member of the rescue fire company and the fire police.
He is survived by his daughter Jody Burks of Wilmington, DE, two stepdaughters Juli Laverty and husband Keith of Middletown, DE and Cathy Herrold and husband Troy of Harrisburg, grandchildren Kelsey M. Doty, Adam P. and Bailey S. Herrold, great grandchild Ayden P. Herrold, one brother and sister-in-law Gary and Pat Underkoffler of Myerstown nieces and their spouses Andrea Keating, Lisa and Rick Rudy, nephew and his wife Greg and Karen Underkoffler.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother Dale Keating, stepfather Vincent Coleman and his long life partner of 25 plus years Kay Wallace.
A graveside service will be held June 19 in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, followed by a reception at the Rescue Hose Company. A time will be announced closer to the date.
The family would like to thank his very good friend Wade Lytle for being there to assist him after coming home from the hospital.
