Rodney Wade Fausey, 56, of Sunbury, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a brief illness.
Rodney was born July 15, 1967, in Sunbury, a son of Dale and Peggy (Hipple) Fausey. He was educated in Shikellamy schools and graduated from Shikellamy High School and SUN Technical School in 1987.
Rodney married Andrea Lynn Bastian on Feb. 24, 1990, and his passing breaks a marital union of 33 years.
Rodney was employed in the construction industry, also working at Wood-Mode and most recently was employed at Knoebel's Amusement Resort. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was an accomplished wood worker and leather worker, hobbies which he shared via gifts he created. He loved his family and spending time with them, trips to Finger Lakes area of New York, and music.
Many days, he could be found sitting in the back room of their home with his three cat friends, Suge, Molly and Raffie, which provided him with entertainment and amusement.
He is survived by his wife Andrea; their children, Shelby Lauren and her partner Darius Durham of Sunbury, Wade Francis and his partner Kristen Miller of Sunbury; grandson, Valentine Durham, who was the light of his life. Rod loved being a grandfather to this sweet boy. Rodney's siblings include Jeanne Thayer of McCormich, S.C., his brother, Robin Fausey of Middleburg, Fla., Pam Krautheim of Cassville, NY, Valerie Shaffer of Eagle River, Alaska, and Matt Fausey of Middleburg, Fla., and several nieces and rephews.
Rod was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother, Francis Fausey.
