Robert Stahl, 77, of Northumberland, passed away peacefully after a life spent in the town he called home.

Born to Helen and Dewey Stahl, Robert grew up in Northumberland alongside his brother Donald, all of whom preceded him in death. A lifelong resident, Robert devoted himself to his community in both public and personal ways. He served as Mayor of Northumberland, offering his time and energy to the betterment of the borough.

Robert had a curious mind and an enduring passion for electronics. An avid amateur radio enthusiast, he was known for his involvement in local and regional ham radio events and enjoyed connecting with fellow operators across the airwaves and in person. He could often be found tinkering with equipment, building or repairing devices, or studying new technology. He also had a deep appreciation for live music and cherished the camaraderie of meeting his friends for donuts and conversation.

Robert also served as an area director for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), supporting countless young athletes and their families. In more recent years, he drove buses for local school districts, helping students get to and from school and events safely.

Robert is survived by his son, David Stahl, who has fond memories of his father supporting him through all the activities in his youth: taking time to practice baseball with him, helping him with his paper route, and being present at games and performances alike.

In keeping with Robert’s unassuming nature, the family held a private remembrance. In his honor, consider sharing a memory of Robert, volunteering, or simply enjoying some live music as he would have.
