Robert Salter Obituary

Northumberland – Robert W. “Bob” Salter, 74, of Stone School Road passed away

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Bob was born September 9, 1945 in Vermont a son of the late Herbert Salter and June (Heffner) Kerstetter.  On May 19, 1965, he married the former Linda S. Campbell who survives.

He was a 1964 graduate of Sunbury High School.  He was a bricklayer in the Philadelphia Area and later gained employment with Philips Ind., Selinsgrove and TRW / Textron in Danville.

Bob was a member of the United Lutheran Church, in Sunbury.

He was also a member of the Goodwill and Rescue Hose Companies of Sunbury, the Northumberland Hook & Ladder and the Point Township Fire Dept.

As an outdoorsman, Mr. Salter was a member of the Deerfoot Lodge Hunting Camp in Waterville.

Bob enjoyed tinkering around and his motorcycle and truck.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert A. Salter of Middletown, Brian K. and Penny Salter of Sunbury and Mary Kline of Winfield, grandchildren Krisa, Carly and Kaitlyn, one great grandchild Max, one sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Joe Scott of Sunbury, sister-in-law Connie Heffner of Sunbury.

He was preceded in death by his son David B. Salter and his brother Barry Heffner.

A private graveside service will be held in United Lutheran Cemetery, Sunbury with Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating.

Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to his church United Lutheran Church, 167 7 Points Road, Sunbury, PA   17801 or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E 3rd Street, Williamsport, PA  17701.

Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury, PA   17801.
