Sunbury - Robert "Bob" Arden Klinger, 80, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family on August 27, 2024.

 

Robert was born March 10, 1944, in Sunbury a son of the late G. Donald and Naomi (Poorman) Klinger.  On July 3, 1964, he married Gladys Bailey, his high school sweetheart.

 

He enlisted in the Army in 1966 and proudly served 10 years, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.

 

Bob enjoyed the outdoors, camping, target shooting, motorcycles and his jeep but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

 

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his two sons and one daughter-in-law Timothy and Tracy Klinger of NC, James Klinger of Sunbury, grandchildren Jacob and his fiancé' Kelly, Ryland and his wife Kensie, great grandchildren Jasper and Marley Rose.

 

A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 3rd, from 10:00am-11:00am at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am with pastor Jeff Dunkle officiating.

 

Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
