Robert A. Reed, 78, Selinsgrove
Robert A. "Bob" Reed, 78, of Meadowbrook Drive, Selinsgrove, passed away, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Bob was born April 2, 1945, in Sunbury, son of the late John and Crystal Reed (Rebuck). On Sept. 16, 2006, he married Marilis Azocar who survives him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jason and Kristin Reed; grandchildren, Jackson and Wyatt, stepdaughters Gen, Gabby and Gerry; his nieces Charlene, Cindy and Crissy and the multitude of cousins whom he dearly loved and cherished.
He received his Bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg University following his service in the Navy, and worked for the AFL-CIO dedicating his 30-year career to the labor movement. Bob returned to his hometown upon retirement and truly enjoyed sharing the Susquehanna Valley with his family and friends, particularly with his neighbors on Meadowbrook Drive.
Bob was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church of Christ in Sunbury and treasured the fellowship of the church, especially the social gatherings and companionship amongst the congregation.
He was preceded in death by sisters Susan Reed and Nancy Wolfe; brothers Rick and Chuck Reed, and his beloved dog, Spartan.
A memorial service will be held April 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the First Reformed Church of Christ in Sunbury. A fellowship meal at the church will follow the service.
Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
