Ricky L. Burgess, 67, Sunbury
Ricky L. "Munchkin" Burgess, 67, of N. 2nd Street, Sunbury, passed away Sunday, May 31, at the Nursing and Rehab Center at the Mansion in Sunbury.
Ricky was born Oct. 8, 1958, in Harrisburg a son of the late Leon and Gladys (Hollenbach) Burgess. On June 3, 1989, he married Cindy F. Sheesley who survives.
He was a 1977 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
Ricky worked for McDonalds for several years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Sunbury and the Sunbury Steam Engine Company Number Ones.
Ricky enjoyed softball, sporting events and visiting baseball stadiums with his son.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Ricky L. Burgess Jr.; grandchildren Vincent and Bristo;, sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Russell Herman, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Brylee; brother, Leon Burgess Jr., and sisters Rose McKee and Gail Pflug.
A visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and again Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will follow at 11 with Pastor Mark Gittens officiating.
Interment will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
