Richard Marshall Obituary

Richard (Dicky) L Marshall, 73, of Walnut Street, Sunbury, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Richard was born on February 28, 1949 in Sunbury, the first son to the late Bruce N. and Edith F. (Hassinger.)
He was a 1967 graduate of Shikellamy High School and of Williamsport Community College.
For many years he resided in Northumberland PA. His first daughter, Shaye Allison, was born February 1979. Elizabeth Anne came August 1984, and Ian Timothy March 1987. Approaching retirement, he moved back to Sunbury to the Walnut Street block.
Hailing from the top floor of the Hassinger hotel, he could be found most days enjoying the front porch watching the world go by and keeping the Bloody 3rd Ward safe. He enjoyed running errands and taking care of his mom in their later years.  He is a 15 time Americus clambake card playing champion.  He loved calls from his kids and would always check in. He was a huge fan of all teams Philadelphia- especially the Eagles and Phillies.
He was a life member of the Amercius Hose Company and Sunbury Social Club.
He is survived by his children, Shaye, Elizabeth (Tom), and Ian (Lisa); their mom Debbie, grandchildren Nina, Ambry, Carson; brothers Charles “Sam” (Laura); Bruce (Cindy); Terry (Mary); brother in law Jerome; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister Pam and parents Bruce and Edith.
Visiting hours will be held at the Zweier Funeral Home on Friday, December 2 from 11-1, with a service to follow at 1. Dick never was known to dress up so we ask that you dress casually and if you have it wear your favorite Philadelphia sports apparel.

Interment will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
