Lewisburg - Rebecca A. Zeigler, 85 passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Oak Glen Memory Center.

 

She was born October 13, 1940 in Corvallis, OR a daughter of the late F. Alton and Elva (Widlund) Everest. On May 15, 1987 she married Stephen R. Zeigler who survives.

 

Rebecca received a master's degree in social work from the University of California. Although renowned for her social work in several local counties, Mrs. Zeigler also held a teaching degree in Home Economics as well as a Real Estate License.

 

She was a gifted seamstress, creating purses, bags and particularly her quilts, selling goods at many craft shows.

 

In addition to her husband, Rebecca is survived by; two daughters, Tamara Ellis of Sunbury, Annette Ellis of NC, one stepdaughter, Susan D. Ney of Sunbury, two step-grandchildren, Andrea and Logan Ranck, three step-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mona Everest and one brother, Dan Everest.

 

She was preceded in death by her stepson, Stephen R. Zeigler, Jr.

 

A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury with a memorial service beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating.

 

Interment will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.
