Raymond F. Smith, 84, of North River Avenue, Sunbury, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Raymond was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Mount Pleasant Mills, a son of the late Raymond F. and Christina Smith. He was happily married to his wife Donna (Brown) Smith for 67 years.

He was a mason for 44 years. Raymond worked with the fire police and was a lifetime member of the Rescue Hose Company and American Eagles.

Raymond enjoyed NASCAR and going to the races. He loved swinging on monkey vines with his daughters, and enjoyed playing softball for Crebs.

One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.

He is survived by three daughters, Deb Smith, Tammie Mowry, and Tina Lewis (Bill); grandchildren, David and Becky Mowry, Colton Mowry, Randy and Mathew Richter, and April McFern; great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Dawson, Randy, Mason and Teagan; his brothers and sisters, Diane and Bob McNaulty, Joan Zimmerman, Terry and Maureen Smith, Lori Smith (Catalina).

His favorite saying "Love you all" and his everyday conversations with his daughters. "The flag is flying to the river, no wait now it's going to Weis" will be greatly missed. He was the best caregiver to his wife, he was a great man and had a lot of family and friends that loved him.

The family would like to thank Nottingham Village for caring for their dad and a special thank you to Geisinger 5th floor ICU.

A celebration of life will be held Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 503, 33 S. Third St., Sunbury.
