Sunbury - Phyllis J. Gordon, 82, of Seven Points Road, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 23, 2025, at Geisinger Shamokin Area Hospital with her family by her side
Phyllis was born December 12, 1942, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Girard F. and Sarah H. (Bordner) Deibler. On April 9, 1960, she married James L. Gordon, who preceded her in death May 17, 2024.
She was a graduate of Sunbury High School.
Phyllis worked for MetLife for several years as well as many other local businesses through the years all while being a full-time, devoted mother and grandmother. She always made time for children and grandchildren, whether it be taking them to Knoebels, playing games or just going out for ice cream, she always made them feel special.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland.
Phyllis also coached softball and was a member of the PTA.
She loved Halloween and dressing up, singing and dancing, she wrote poetry and enjoyed her sugary snacks, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Phyllis is survived by her sons James Gordon (Lois Cooper), Joshua Gordon, daughters Jamie Feaster (Brown), Jodi Graybill (John), grandchildren Sarah (Tim), Kyle, Zachary (Jennifer), Jake (Roslyn), Brittany, John (Essie), Carrie (Jimi), Joshua, Jonathon, Chris, Samuel, Joslyn (Patrick), Jackie (Greg), Jamie, great grandchildren Ryder, Raegan, Audrielle, Ezra, Ivan, Elijah, Novella, Zimri, Tyler, Gearran, Brixsel, Brindy, Kylie, Adelee, Chelsea (Paul), and Addie sister Linda McCormick (Jon) and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Girard "Lefty" and Eugene "Noot" Deibler.
A viewing will be held Thursday May 29, from 10:00-11:00am at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
A celebration of James L. Gordon's life will also be held at this time.
