Sunbury - Peggy A. Gheen, 90, of Catawissa Avenue, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at her home.  

Peggy was born March 13, 1935, in Sunbury a daughter of the late Garfield R. and Margaret E. (Ryan) Albert.  On November 7, 1954, she married Guy R. Gheen who preceded her in death July 11, 2021. 

She was a 1953 graduate of Sunbury High School.  

Peggy was a bookkeeper for her husband's business Gheens Inc. for many years; she later worked for Shikellamy School District as a cafeteria aid until her retirement.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury.

Peggy was a Rainbow Girl, a member of the Eastern Star, and Tall Cedars Women's Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Brian Gheen of Sunbury, and her daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Terry Raker of Shamokin Dam.

A viewing will be held Monday, July 21, from 10:30am-11:00am at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury where the funeral will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Beth George officiating.

Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
