Mrs. Patricia Ann Sanders of Riverside, passed away September 2, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Danville, the daughter of the late Chester and Blanche James of Danville. 

 

Pat is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Gerry Sanders; niece Tracey James Jeffreys of Milton; nephews Chet James of Tavernier, FL, and Edward (and Jill) James of Camp Hill; two great-nephews, Evan and Logan James; and two great-nieces, Dana and Drue James.

 

Pat attended St. Cyril Academy in Danville and Rogers Hall School in Lowell, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Rider University, and her master’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University. Upon graduation, Pat began her teaching career at Valley Forge School District, followed by a tenure at Williamsport School District and Oaklyn Elementary, and finished her career at Sunbury Middle School. 

 

She was a lifelong member of the Grove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling to Alaska, the New Jersey beaches, Lake Tahoe, and Penn State football bowl games. For many years, she also enjoyed playing bridge and having lunch with friends. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and parties. 

 

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville in memory of Patricia Ann Sanders.
