Northumberland - Orval E. Lahr, 89 a resident of The Pines Apartments passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Milton Nursing & Rehab Center.
Orval was born February 4, 1930 in Sunbury a son of the late Cloyd A. and Blanche S. (Drumheller) Lahr. On January 1, 1950 he married the former Phyllis L. Sulouff who survives.
He was a 1948 graduate of Northumberland High School. He was self-employed as a contractor.
Mr. Lahr was a member of the Community Mennonite Fellowship, Milton.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, Orval is survived by; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven A. and Connie J. Lahr of Northumberland, Jeffrey W. and Susan M. Lahr of Sunbury, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Trudy D. Baker of Milton, Barbara J. and Ray Tucker of Cookeville, TN, Lisa S. and David A. Kachmar of Milton, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, Rick Lahr, six sisters, Joyce Dell, Doris Miller, Louise Stuck, Darlene Howard, Chyrl Gemberling and Lela Strawser.
He was preceded in death by, one son, Russell D. Lahr, sister, Cottie Raker, and three brothers, Maynard, Martin and Stanley Lahr.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am to 11:00am Friday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home 210 King Street, Northumberland with Pastor Tim Darling officiating.
Burial will follow im Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
