Ned P. Chamberlain, 82, of Cherry Street, Paxinos, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, in Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.
Ned was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Paxinos, a son of the late Robert and Martha (Paul) Chamberlain. He married Phyllis Campfield who preceded him in death in August of 1972, and later married Shirley Walz who preceded him in death December of 2022.
He attended schools in the Shamokin School District.
Ned was a truck driver for Weis Markets for 51 1/2 years prior to retiring March 4, 2015. During those 51 years he received an award for driving over 4 million miles and was acknowledged for 48 years of safe driving.
He attended Ash Grove United Methodist Church and more recently Augustaville Wesleyan Church.
Ned was a lifetime member of the Americus Hose Company and the Stonington Fire Company.
He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a league at Crown Lanes. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing with his wife in Tioga County, and he enjoyed playing horseshoes.
Ned is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Pam Chamberlain; daughter and son-in-law, Lynette A. and Jim Buoy; stepchildren, Doug D. Benick and Gail M. Shirk and her husband John; grandchildren, Matthew Chamberlain, Amanda Anselmo, Casey Lenker, Nichole Bridi; step-grandchildren, Felicia Mull and Jeffrey Shirk; 11 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Ermie Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-granddaughter, Victoria Shirk; and brothers, Paul, Charlie and Melvin Chamberlain.
Friends and family may visit from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Murphy officiating.
Interment will follow in Ash Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Paxinos.
