Michael D. Morris, Sr., 65, of 9 North Seventh St. Shamokin, PA, passed away at Mountain View Manor Nursing Home on December 23, 2018 after a brief illness.

Michael was born in Shamokin on October 13, 1953 the son of the late John and Verna (Shaffer) Morris.

Michael earned his GED. He was an automobile mechanic at Jones’ Salvage for his career and hobby.

Michael is survived by his wife Kay E. (Dewees) Morris (married June 24, 1978), son Michael D. Morris, Jr. of Coal Township, grandchildren, Ian Morris of Shamokin, Kaya Morris of Pottsville, brother James Morris of Coal Township, sisters: Theresa Yerger of Dalmatia, Verna Long of Trevorton, Elaine Wertz of Dalmatia, Loretta Snyder of Coal Township, Lorraine Welker of Sunbury, and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Morris and sister Hilda Conbeer.

Interment will be at the Fairview Gun Club Cemetery, Coal Township, PA at the convenience of the family.
