Sunbury~ Michael E. John's, 77, of Miller Road, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Michael "Mick" was born December 6, 1947 in Shamokin a son of the late Charles Johns and Melva (Young) Pronick On April 6, 1991 he married the former Ruth Peipher who survives.
He proudly served in the United States Army from May 9, 1967 to April 11, 1970. During his time served he earned 10 medals and the Purple Heart.
He owned and operated Michael's Carpets for over 25 years.
Michael was a life member of the VFW of Sunbury, a member of the American Legion of Northumberland.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, stained glass and spending time at the corner bar with his friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Mark Carnuccio, Mary Beth Carnuccio and Jason Johns, two brothers and sisters-in-law Charles and Marlene Johns, William and Patricia Pronick, sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Jeff Hoover, Dorothy Johns, Christine and Vern Gamble and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandson Michael Alderson, and brothers Edward (T.D.) Johns and Bernard Pronick.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 23 from 10-11am at the Zweiers Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury where the memorial service will be held at 11am.
Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
