Marlene Bailey Obituary


Sunbury - Marlene A. Bailey, 80 former resident of Susquehanna Ave. passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at ManorCare where she had been a resident.
Marlene was born May 5, 1939 in Preston, East Yorkshire, England, where she also attended school. She was the daughter of the late Edwin John and Alice (Hallam) Smith.
She was married to Marlin E. Bailey who preceded her in death on January 18, 2017.
Mrs. Bailey was employed with several area businesses including; Mina's Bridal, CSG and Keithan Bakeries and Mary MacIntosh.
She had a great love for her gardens, spending many hours tending to her roses in particular.
She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Northumberland and more recently, in Lewisburg.
Marlene is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Douglas W. and Betsy A. Kinsley of Northumberland, Gavin K. Bailey of Sunbury, four grandchildren, Angela Chubb and husband Jesse of Danville, Michael Kinsley of Northumberland, Courtney Snook of Selinsgrove and Brittney Blair and husband Trent of Middleburg, five great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Alexander Chubb, Jayson and Jax Blair and Morgan Dieffenderfer.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marlene was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
Friends and family may visit from 10:00am to 11:00am, Saturday at the Zweier Funeral Home 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury where a memorial service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Kurt Francis officiating.
