Linda Fellon Obituary

Linda L. Fellon, 59, of Northumberland, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 1, 2019, at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was born on November 16, 1959 in Ashland, Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of Bruce Hummel and the late Patricia Hummel.  Linda graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1977, where she had participated in the band as a majorette and was a member of the National Honor Society.  She received her Nursing degree at the Williamsport Hospital in the Spring of 1980.  Linda married her high school sweetheart, Christopher J. Fellon, on September 6, 1980.  They built a home outside of Northumberland in Point Township.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Christopher, and her two children: Sarah Hoffman and her husband, Jeremy, of Hummelstown; and John Fellon, and his wife, Abby, of Harrisburg.  She is also survived by her favorite grandson, Grant Hoffman, to whom she was affectionately known as, “Gigi.”  Linda is also survived by her father, Bruce Hummel, and his wife, Flo, of Mechanicsburg; her sister, Kathy Smith, and her husband, Timothy, of Harrisburg; as well her mother-in-law, Grace Fellon, many brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.  Linda was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Hummel, of Sunbury.
Linda was a caring and hardworking nurse.  She worked at Sunbury Community Hospital for many years.  Most recently, Linda loved working at an oncology practice with Dr. Mayur Patel and his staff caring for cancer patients, where she subsequently received excellent and compassionate care herself.  Linda also had a passion for growing flowers and had great knowledge about different plant and flower species.  She created and maintained beautiful flower beds and pots and was constantly planting new varieties.  When she wasn’t in her garden, Linda could often be found reading, another one of her passions, and spending time with her friends.  She also enjoyed boating and spending time at her lake house on Smith Mountain Lake.
Linda’s greatest earthly joy, however, was her family.  She loved her family deeply and was a devoted mother and grandmother, putting her family’s needs above her own.  She spent a great deal of time with her family, in person and on the phone.  Linda treasured her grandson and was an excellent grandmother, playing, reading, and spending quality time with him.
Most importantly, Linda not only believed in, but trusted her life and eternity to, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  At a young age, she decided to follow Jesus at a backyard Bible Club facilitated by Child Evangelism Fellowship.  Linda continued to live out her faith the rest of her life and she was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church for many years.  Linda was confident in her eternal destination, and her family draws comfort in knowing that Linda is with her Savior, in a place too beautiful to imagine.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 967 Mile Hill Road, Sunbury, followed by funeral services at 11:00am with Pastor Josh Gibson officiating.  The burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Northumberland.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda’s memory to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Northumberland County, 53 Blue Hill Rd, Northumberland, PA 17857.
