Northumberland - Lilia Tabora Laoyan, 80 of Prince Street passed away Thursday, November 6, 2019 at Master's Haven Assisted Living in Finksburg, MD.
Lilia was born February 9, 1939 in Benguet, Philippines a daughter of the late Antonio and Victorina (Laroco) Tabora. On May 23, 1959 she married Aurelio Bayas Laoyan who preceded her in death on July 9, 2016
Mrs. Laoyan completed a Masters Degree in Education, later becoming a high school teacher for the Benguet State University. After moving to the United States and settling in Northumberland, she gained employment in housekeeping at Furman Foods.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Danville. She was an active member of the Northumberland/Point Twp. Senior Action Center.
She enjoyed crotcheting and took great pride in maintaining her home and flower gardens. Lilia was also a great cook who loved to share her meals with others.
Mrs. Laoyan is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Margaret and Bob Matthews of Gwynn Oak, MD, Mary Lourdes and Chuck Martin of Allentown, Angeline and Dermont Bouchard of Athens, GA, Aurileen and Julius Garoy, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jacqueline Laoyan all of La Trinidad Beneguet, Philippines, her 15 grandchildren, Andrew James and Mariah, Rachel, Alexander, Christianne, David, Marcel, Maurice and Amber, Michael and Robin, Clay and Monica, Julieanne and Jiuliana, Kendrix, Shanea, Renee and Auri Jorge and one great-grandchild, Asa Aurelio.
Friends and family may visit from 9:30am to 11:30am, Monday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland with funeral services beginning at 11:30am.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
