Lezlie Jean Patterson (formerly Oberlin) of Sunbury PA passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after a courageous battle with several serious health issues. She was 67 years old.

 

Lezlie was born on June 11th, 1958. She was the beloved daughter of Richard and Sandra Oberlin (formerly Stillwagner), and sister to Richard Oberlin Jr. and Julie Slonaker.

 

Lezlie attended Mansfield University and earned a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She then worked as a dietitian at The Mansion Nursing Home in Sunbury, and later at Mountain View Rehabilitation and Senior Living Center in Trevorton. Later she worked for WIC (the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children), and finally for Parent to Parent.

 

Helping people was what Lezlie loved doing most. She was smart, compassionate, patient, and a great leader.

 

Lezlie married Steven Patterson, also of Sunbury, in 1993. Together they spent 33 wonderful years together. Steven feels lost without her, but he knows Lezlie’s spirit will always be supporting him. She was the most caring and compassionate person he has ever known.

 

Lezlie was also a wonderful cat mom to numerous felines over the years. They miss her very much.

 

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 16, at Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street in Sunbury PA. Visitation will run from 4:00 - 6:00, with services starting at 6:00.
