Danville - Lewis D. Litchard Jr., 74, of Camden Lane, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his loving family.

Lewis, born April 9, 1950, in Lewisburg, was the cherished son of the late Lewis D. and Annabelle (Fromm) Litchard. On July 29, 1979, he married the love of his life, Susan J. (Snyder), who survives him.

Lewis was a 1968 graduate of Montgomery High School.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland, and a lifelong member of the Northumberland Hook and Ladder.

Lewis had a zest for life that was infectious. He found immense happiness in golfing, exploring new destinations with Susan, and cheering on Penn State football and wrestling. However, his greatest source of joy was his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with Hunter, Haley, Jeremy, Alexandra, and Ashlyn, their laughter filling his heart with love.

Lewis is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Charles Wheeland, Dianna and Aric Passmore, Tina and Scott Kropa; his grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Sandy Litchard, James and Lynn Litchard; and many dear friends and extended family members who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Reed, whose memory he carried with him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lewis's life at a visitation on Saturday, June 29, from 9:30-10:30am at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland, followed by a memorial service at 10:30am officiated by Pastor Karla Leiby.

Lewis will be remembered not only for his vibrant spirit and love for his family but also for the kindness and warmth he extended to everyone around him. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and bring us comfort.
