Northumberland - Lauren E. Miller, 77 of Orange Street passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his home.
Lauren was born on May 3, 1946 in Sunbury a son of the late Robert F. and Orpha L. (Hare) Miller. On March 4, 1972 he married the former Ruthann M. Rigel who survives.
He was a 1964 graduate of Northumberland High School and in 1968 received his bachelors degree in math education from Bloomsburg College.
Mr. Miller served in the Air Force from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1972 as a systems analyst.
Lauren began work as a Snyder County Tax Assessor, he was a systems analyst for Philco Ford, later Zenith, he then spent 17 years with Sprout Waldron Products as an electrician and heat treat, he served as a guard at the Snyder County Prison and lastly was employed with Gass Electric until his retirement.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Northumberland.
Lauren's civic organizations include, Free & Accepted Mason Eureka Lodge #404, Williamsport Consistory, Lewisburg Chapter #394, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Post #44, Northumberland, life member of the Northumberland Hook & Ladder, AARP, and NRA.
Mr. Miller was a talented woodworker and enjoyed cooking and flowers.
In addition to his wife, Lauren is survived by; three brothers, Terry R. Miller and friend, Jeff Johnstonbaugh of Northumberland, Monte C. Miller and wife, Carol of Middleburg, Randy J. Miller of Northumberland, his daughter/niece, Kelly Hauck and husband, Rick of Winfield, nieces and nephews, Jan and Chuck Kessler of Troxelville, Kathy and Jeff Radal of Selinsgrove, Larry, Jr. and Ruth Klingler, Lynn Klingler all of Selinsgrove, Michelle and Chris Faust of Danville, Jennifer and Zachary Feaster, Nicole Miller all of Northumberland, Matthew and Tiffany Miller of Middleburg, Maria and Dwayne Kock of Harleton, Mark and Kathy Miller of Philadelphia and his many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Miller.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 7pm to 9pm at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday at the funeral home with Chaplain Bob Barner officiating. A Masonic service will conducted prior to the start of the service.
Burial with military honors will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
