SUNBURY — Laura “Jean” Linamen, 87, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2015, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born April 5, 1928, in Leechburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Wolfe) France.
Jean retired from Eyer’s Manor Nursing Home as a patient assistant at the age of 76.
Jean loved the outdoors, gardening and reading. In her younger days she loved to fish and hunt. She enjoyed visiting with her friends at breakfast every morning at the local restaurant. She loved watching NASCAR races and baseball, especially the Little League World Series, and the Olympics.
Jean is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Patrick Brown; two granddaughters, Tricia Reitz and Tiffany Witmer; grandson-in-law, Ricky Witmer; three great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Vaughn, and Ace Witmer; and five nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Plattner and Betty Best; and one brother, Glenn France.
It was Jean’s wish that there be no services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Priestley-Forsythe Memorial Library, 100 King St., Northumberland, PA 17857.
