Kathleen Mary Pufnak, 78, formerly of Sunbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024. 

 Kathleen was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School in Shamokin. A faithful member of Saint Monica Parish, she was actively involved in the parish community. She dedicated her time to various church activities, including counseling members, assisting with kitchen duties, and soup and bake sales. Kathleen cherished sharing meals with her friends, enjoying evening suppers at OIP after church and morning breakfasts with her group. 

She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan. 

Growing up, Kathleen spent many happy days helping her mother at the family business, Pufnak’s Café, in Shamokin. She had a lifelong love for travel, reading, and crocheting. A devoted animal lover, Kathleen was known for offering dog treats to every canine that passed by her home.

 For 37 years, Kathleen worked as an aide at the Selinsgrove Center, where she was deeply appreciated by both colleagues and the individuals she cared for. 

 She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Marion Pufnak.

 Kathleen is survived by her brother, John Pufnak, and cherished nieces and nephew. 

 A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:50 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Monica Catholic Church, 109 Market Street, Sunbury, where a mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Jerome Kleponis officiating.

Kathleen’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to those around her will be fondly remembered by the many lives she touched.
