June Cameron Campbell (Hackett), 66, of Northumberland, passed away the morning of Aug. 2, 2024, surrounded by loved ones following a yearlong battle with cancer.

June was born Aug. 13, 1957, in Sunbury, the daughter of the late James E. and June Cameron Hackett. June graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1975 and then proceeded to Wilma Boyd Career School, where she earned her secretary’s certificate in December 1975. Her career began in 1976 with her first secretarial position. She continued to serve as a secretary or administrative assistant until retirement in 2023, with her final 16 years devoted to Villager Realty in Northumberland.

June married her high school sweetheart, Steven David Campbell, Aug. 13, 1977, and they lived happily together in Northumberland for their 46 years of marriage.

June is survived by her three children: Sean Campbell and his wife, Nicole; Kathryn Maneval and her husband, Jason; and Robbin Campbell and his wife, Christin; seven grandchildren: Nolan, Kilee, Mason, Emmelee, Adelyn, Wesley and Cameron; and one sister, Nancy Hackett. June was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sue Holmes.

June was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and was happiest when she was spending time with her family. She was never short of a proud story or picture of her grandchildren at a recent visit, sporting event or concert. Some of June’s greatest passions were music, photography and travel, which resulted in many memorable trips with her family, and then worldwide with her husband later in life. She also enjoyed baking, counting cross stitch, her dog, Izzy, and karaoke with friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church at Front and King streets, Northumberland on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and the service will follow at 11 a.m.
