June M. Buckles Obituary

Sunbury - June M. Buckles, 83, of Boy Scout Road, passed away, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at home.

June was born October 6, 1941, in Sunbury a daughter of the late Woodrow C. and Alice (Johnson) Russo.  On October 31, 1959, she married William E. Buckles Jr. who preceded her in death January 18, 2020, breaking a 60-year marital union.

She was a member of St. Elias Church, Sunbury.

June was an avid fan of Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies, she enjoyed Bill Gaither Gospel music and the Family Feud.

She is survived by her daughters Veronica Weikel (Richard), Nancy Lahr (Boyd) and Connie Martz, grandchildren Shannon, James, Randal, Shandra, Amanda, Curtis, Ashley and Joshua, 23 great grandchildren and five great- great -grandchildren and one sister Ellie Miller (Tom).

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Carole Rowe.

A viewing will be held, Friday, Saturday November 29, 2024, from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Elias Evangelical and Reformed Church, 2016 Church Road, Sunbury where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Clair Shaffer officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Elias Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in June's memory may be made to her church, St. Elias Evangelical and Reformed Church, 2016 Church Road, Sunbury, PA   17801.

Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
