Northumberland - Jon “Jeff” Bettleyon, 70, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his home.
Jeff was born October 5, 1953 in Sunbury a son of the late Lee E. And Bessie F. Bettleyon.
He was a graduate of Shikellamy High School.
Jeff was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northumberland.
He started working for Mertz Ice at 13 years old and worked for them until they closed. He then started working for the Ice House in Lewisburg at 16 and worked for them until he retired.
He enjoyed bowling, all sports especially NASCAR and football but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Jeff is survived by sister Bonnie (Dan) Aleta, twin sister Cindy (Stan) McKee, nieces and nephews Jon McKee, John (Tina) Vayda, Vickie (Johnny) Oxenrider, Sue (Rick) Zeigler, Doug Ray, Angie Ray, LeeAnn Wagner, Lina (Shawn) Longacre, Jessie (Todd) Smith, David (Carol) Bettleyon, Raymond (Barb) Bettleyon and their families.
He was preceded in death by brother Lee Bettleyon and wife Doris, sister Judy Ray and husband Gene, nephew Mike Ray, and niece Heather Tobias.
Friends and family may visit Friday, February 2, from 9:00am-11:00am at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Karla Leiby officiating.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory may be to his church St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 Queen Street, Northumberland.
