John Burt Beverlin Obituary






Shermans Dale - John Burt Beverlin, 66, of Windy Hill Road, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Lebanon Valley VA Hospital.
John was born February 26, 1949 in Barryton, MI. a son of the late Dean and Lila Jean (Bastedo) Beverlin. July 22, 1986 he married Magda Ruck who survives.
He was a graduate of Doddridge High School in West Virginia.
John then entered the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and Korea, served two tours in Vietnam, and attained rank of sergeant before retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. John will receive the Presidential Memorial Certificate for his time in the Army.
He enjoyed playing music especially guitar and was a lead singer for many country bands through the years.
John was also a member of the VFW.
In addition to his wife John is survived by his two daughters and one son-in-law Jeanne J. and Youness Alami of Camp Hill, Vanessa J. Beverlin of Shermans Dale, one son Kevin B. Beverlin of Shermansdale, four grandchildren Anthony, Adam, Ali and Amina, three brothers and sisters-in-law Dean and Nancy Beverlin of Buckhannon, WV, Danny and Judy Beverlin of Clarksburg, WV, William and Robin of French Royal, VA one sister and brother-in-law Kathie and Butch Titus of Salem, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday from 10-11am at the Lighthouse Church, 535 Mount Rock Rd., Newville, PA 17241, where the funeral service will follow at 11am with Rev. Paul Eddie Frye officiating.
Burial will follow at the National Cemetery at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville.
Contributions in John's memory may be made Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, c/o Rev. Paul Eddie Frye, 850 Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale, Pa 17090.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland PA 17857.
