Winfield – Jerome F. “Jerry” Anselmo, 77, of Winfield passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 in his home after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born July 23, 1943 in Washington D.C. a son of the late Joseph Anselmo Sr. and Josephine Guiffre Anselmo. He and his four siblings grew up in the Middlecreek area of Snyder County, moving to Point Township in 1958. He graduated from Northumberland High School in 1962.
On July 24, 1975 he married the former Judith K. Carnes who survives. His death breaks 45 eventful years of marriage.
Jerry led a colorful life with stories best untold. We will never forget his adventures and shenanigans . His greatest joy was his family and grandchildren followed by woodworking and putting around on the farm.
His life work was with cash registers and computers. He started his own business in 1976, Susquehanna Cash Register, Shamokin Dam and retired from there in 1998. He went on to developing land purchased along with his sons.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Selinsgrove and a life member of Shamokin Dam Fire Company.
Jerry loved his animals, golfing with his buddies, motorcycling and boating.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Anselom is survived by his six children and their spouses, Vince and Michelle Anselmo, Aaron and Shelly Anselmo, Mark and Erin Anselmo, Matt Anselmo, Jerri Lynn and Joe Goas and Traci and Megan Ryan, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Joe Jr. and Jeff Anselmo, two sisters and one brother-in-law Judith Kratzer and Janice and Bruce Foster, many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 no services will be held. The family will hold a celebration of life at their convenience.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to his church St. Paul’s UCC , 400 N Market Street, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 or to Evangelical Hospice, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
