Jay V McCarthy Obituary

Jay V. McCarthy Jr. 62, of Strawbridge Road, passed away at his home on Nov. 4.
He was born Aug. 16, 1963, in Bloomsburg, a son of Tamara Runyan and the late Jay V. McCarthy. On March 17, 1990, he married Tammy L. Kerstetter, who survives. 
Jay was a proud SAL member of American Legion Post #44 in Northumberland, Northumberland Fire Company 1, and Highland Lake Manor Corp. Social Club in Hughesville.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and sharing his passion for the outdoors by mentoring youth in these activities. Jay was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame football, and Southern Columbia Football.
He is survived by his stepmom Christine, two sisters and one brother
He will be remembered for his love of nature, his generous spirit and his dedication to family and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland from 9:30 to 11 a.m. where the memorial service will follow at 11.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury, Pa.
