Jacob William Klinger
Jacob William Klinger (Jake) of Sunbury passed away on January 4, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1939.
Jake grew up in Herndon and graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School in 1957. After high school, he served as a code breaker in the Army Security Agency before returning to the states and raising a family. Jake worked for several decades at Celotex in Sunbury and was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church (EBFC).
Jake was best known for his profound faith, his generous heart, and his boundless sense of humor. He was always quick with a joke to brighten your day, a trait he gladly brought to everyone he met.
Jacob was preceded in death by his son Michael, parents Clair and Hulda, and brother James. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his son Rob (Katie), four nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, January 9 from 10-11am at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury, followed by the funeral service at 11am.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
