Jack Elwood Fasold, 89, Northumberland
Northumberland—Jack E. Fasold, 89, of Point Township, died February 18, 2021 at Grandview Nursing Home. He was born June 12, 1931, in Sunbury, a son of the late Theron R. and Hazel A. (Wands) Fasold. In 1952 he married his High School sweetheart, the former Faith I. Slear. His passing breaks a strong marital union of 68 years. The couple resided in Northumberland in the house that Jack built.
He was a 1950 graduate of Northumberland High School where he played football and basketball.
Mr. Fasold was a veteran of the Navy. He joined the Aviation Branch in 1951 and was an aviation metalsmith on the Bonhomme Richard aircraft carrier before his discharge in 1955. His home base was Quonset Point, Rhode Island.
Jack, along with his father Theron, uncle Paul Fasold and brother Donny founded Fasold Brothers Electric, Northumberland in 1952. He retired in 1995.
For 37 years Jack served the community as a member of thePoint Township Sewer Authority and also served as a board member for the Northumberland Sewer Authority.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 44, past president of the Northumberland Jaycees, past member of the Eureka Lodge 404 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Northumberland and at the Williamsport Consistory. He was a Cub Scout Leader and a Little League Coach.
Jack was a devoted husband and father. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, photography, fixing things, singing and laughing.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland, where he was fondly known as the donut man. During his time at TUMC he served as head of the building committee, secretary of the Sunday School, member of the administration board and usher.
He is also survived by his three children, Jeffrey Fasold and wife Dottie, Darlene Engle and husband Bill, MaryAnn Poling and husband Jason; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Orner, JasonFasold, Scott (Christina) Engle, Justin (Becky) Fasold, Matt(Pat) Engle, Kara and Alicia Poling; six great grandchildren, Cole and Nate Orner, Grace and Liam Jack Engle and Jackson Fasold and one due very soon; sister Beverly J Lenker; sisters-in-law, Audra Simpson and Chris Slear; brother-in-law Keith Slear; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by hisbrother, Donny and sister-in-law Joann and brothers-in-law Leon Lenker and William Simpson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held FridayFebruary 26 at 1:00pm in the Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

Arrangements were made by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home.
Officiant was Jack’s son-in-law Rev. Jason Poling.
