Obituary


Shamokin Dam- Harry D. Smith Jr., 83, formerly of Pine Lane, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland where he had been a resident.
Harry was born February 18, 1937 in Lock Haven a son of the late Harry D. and Thelma L. (Embick) Smith.  
He was  a graduate of Selinsgrove High School and Penn Tech. in Williamsport.  Harry worked for Rea and Derick as the garage manager until their closing. He then gained employement with Kost Tire and Auto Service as a mechanic.
As an avid outdoorsman, Harry was a proud member of the NRA who enjoyed hunting, fishing. He took great joy in riding his Harley Davidson. He spent many years camping at the Pettecote Junction Campground, where he, unlike others was untouched by the flood of 1972.
He is survived by his two daughters Candy J. Chesnick and spouse Edward J. of Northumberland, Lori G. Smith and spouse Sandy Ludwig of Cogan Station,
grandchildren Joshua Foust and fiance' Adrianna Simon of Dewart, Marley Coxe and husband Colby of Northumberland, Keenan Chesnick of Bloomsburg, and Tanner Chesnick of Northumberland, great-grandson Kane Coxe, brother-in-law James Ulrich of Danville, former spouse Mary Lou Foultz of Sunbury, nephew and niece James Ulrich, Jr. of Danville and Amy Ulrich of CO, and his many friends at the campground.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Foust and sister, June Ulrich.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Shreiner's Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland.
