Northumberland - Harold L. Moyer, 87 of Strawbridge Road passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Harold was born on May 11, 1934 in Sunbury a son of the late Roy H., Sr. and Helen M. (Smeltz) Moyer. On May 11, 1958 he married the former Lottie E. Herrold who preceded him in death on April 26, 2019.
He was a graduate of Northumberland High School with the Class of 1952. He served with the Army, stationed in Germany where among his normal duties, he served as a musician, playing the saxophone.
Mr. Moyer was the owner and operator of Suburbanite Awnings as well as being a master carpenter.
He was of the Methodist Faith. Harold was a member of the American Legion Post #44, Northumberland.
He enjoyed tinkering and had a knack for fixing just about anything. Harold was an incredibly humble man, always putting his family and others first before his own needs.
Mr. Moyer is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Gregory S. and Edie L. Moyer of Northumberland and Pam A. Moyer of Winfield, four grandchildren, Amber Reddinger and husband, John of Kutztown, Andrew Moyer of Northumberland, Alaina Rathfon and husband, Brandon of TX, Alyssa Caputo and husband, Michael of Winfield and his seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife of nearly 61 years, he was preceded in death by his son, Douglas L. Moyer in 2009 and his brother, Roy H. Moyer, Jr.
Honoring Harold’s wishes, there will be no service.
