Guy Snyder Obituary

Northumberland - Guy J. Snyder, 86 of Snyder Road passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019.
He was born September 3, 1932 a son of the late Walter A. and Erna (Staugbach) Snyder.  On February 14, 1953 he married the former Marion E. Barnhart who preceded him in death on November 1, 2011.
Guy graduated in 1950 from Northumberland High School and was a proud Pineknotter.
He had various jobs throughout his life. At an early age, he worked at Epler Farms and on his family farm. He was employed for 20 years at Glen Gery Brick Yard. He was in construction with brothers, Richard and Edward, in modular housing and retired from ButterKrust Baking in 1992.
Guy was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Point Township.
He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, never missing a sporting event or milestone in their lives.
As an avid outdoorsman, Guy was proud to tell everyone that he shot 54 buck in his life and was looking forward to going for #55.
Guy was an involved in various sports, playing on area softball teams until the age of 60.
He enjoyed planting huge family gardens for everyone to enjoy.
He is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Vicki Leach, Loretta "Lori" Rice, Judith and Boyd Martin, and Angela and Scott Deibler all of Northumberland, two sons, Jeffrey Snyder and spouse Richard Green of Millbury, MA, Walter H. "Butch" Snyder and companion Diana Brown of Orangeville, grandchildren, Brian Leach and wife, Michelle, Charles Brady, Jennifer Wallis and husband, Jason, Jason Martin, Christopher Martin, Scott Deibler and wife, Samantha, Zachary Deibler and wife Terra, Charissa Snyder, Matthew Snyder and wife, Ashley, Boyd Martin and wife, Amanda and Joshua Snyder, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward Snyder and his special buddy, Jake Brady.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, Guy was preceded in death by, two grandchildren, Paula Marie Brady and Michael Allen Leach, two brothers, Richard and Eugene Snyder.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland, where funeral services will begin at 11:00am.
Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
