Grant G. Long, 91, of Priestley Avenue, Northumberland, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Muncy.
Grant was born June 25, 1932, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Grant G. and Louella (Hendricks) Long. He married the former Jane B. Bogart on June 25, 1951.
He attended Selinsgrove schools. He was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Sunbury.
Grant was a welder and worked for AC&F for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to Jane, his wife of 72 years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rudy E. and Luanne Long; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Bill and John Long; four sisters, Judy, Linda, Dolly and Maria, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Grant G. Long Jr.; two grandsons, Daniel and William Long; four sisters and two brothers.
Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jan Krebs and Elder John Baylor officiating.
Interment will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
