Gary L. Dorman, 81, Northumberland. 

 

Gary L Dorman was reunited with his beloved wife Shiela on April 7, 2026. He was born on November 29, 1944 in Sunbury PA to the late Paul Dorman and Shirley McCreary. He is proceeded in death by one brother, Edward Dorman. He is survived by his five children, Gary L Dorman II ( Jen) Scott A. Dorman ( Betsy) Denise Davis ( Tim) Kelly Hunselman and Travis Dorman ( Richanna) 

 

Gary loved to tell stories about how much fun he had spending time in Forksville Pennsylvania as a boy , where his mother worked for a brief time. He also spoke fondly of his uncle Jim McCreary who he spent a great deal of time with fishing from his houseboat along the Susquehanna. 

Gary graduated from Northumberland High school in 1962 where he played basketball and enjoyed dances and going to Lithia Springs to meet up with friends. Gary met his future wife , Shiela , at a dance and they were married for over 60 years. Gary trained and spent over 40 years as a butcher supporting his family. He was known to build relationships with his customers learning about their families and of course their order preferences , as well as preparation recommendations. Gary loved to cook and try new recipes that he watched on various cooking shows , adding his own personal touch. He and his wife spent hours in the kitchen preparing holiday meals and would always make room for one more. It wasn’t unusual for Gary and Shiela to have a house full of company.

 

Gary lived and worked in Buffalo, New York as a newlywed and while starting his young family. He became an enthusiastic and loyal Buffalo Bills fan early on along with his loved family members from Buffalo and rarely missed a game . 

Gary also enjoyed attending basketball games and sporting events of his 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.He will be missed by all who love him.
