Franklin W. Seal III, formerly of Albrightsville, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.

Born in Sunbury on June 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Franklin W. Seal Jr. and Clara E. (Rubendall) Seal. On June 12, 1965, he married Lorretta Seal, who preceded him in death in October 2022 after 57 years of marriage.

Mr. Seal was a graduate of Sunbury High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Drexel University.

He was employed for many years with Lockheed Martin in the Space Division and later owned and operated F & L Firearms in Phoenixville.

He was a member of Masons Lodge No. 22 of Sunbury. In his leisure time, Mr. Seal enjoyed hunting and bowling.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kriss and Molly Seal; his granddaughter, Alyssa, and her husband, Colin. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence R. Knecht.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 4, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
